The way our society has been set up is revealing.
Currently the economic system is like the tail wagging the dog. A socially constructed monetary system now drives society and the destruction of the environment. The 'market' is now eating into the very ecosystems and structures that support our continued existence as a civilisation and species. The environment and society are treated as externalities to the every increasing drivers of profit.
